Home Learning WC 30.3.2020

Hello Year 6!

I hope that you are all well and have been enjoying your time at home! I just want to say thank you to all of those who have been in touch – it is great to have updates and to see how you are all getting on. Also, I would like to say thank you to all of the parents for your kind words and support during this time. I am missing you all! Sitting at a computer is just not the same as being in the classroom with you, discussing the lessons, sharing work, and having laughs at the funny moments that seem to occur in our classroom on a regular basis. I am sure you are all feeling the same and missing your friends! Just remember, it is not going to be forever and the most important thing is to ensure that we are staying safe during this time.

I want to say a huge well done to all of those that completed their writing assessment last week – I have been very impressed with the work that you have sent! Keeping up those high standards will only benefit you for the rest of this academic year and in preparation for high school.

This week, I have decided to upload all of your lessons together for the week. I feel this is best for this week’s learning because you have two projects: Shadow Theatre (Science) and Plastic Pollution (Art), so you can be completing them over a number of sessions in the afternoons or whenever you feel is the right time for you in your week. In addition to this, we are covering ratio and proportion in maths and you will all be working at different paces for this concept - I am sure! I have still structured the lessons for you as Lesson 1, Lesson 2.. so you don’t feel overwhelmed with seeing all the work at once.

Timetable:

Lesson 1 – Joe’s Workout

Lesson 2 – English

Lesson 3 – Maths

Lesson 4 – Reading

Lesson 5 – Science/Art/PE/Golden Time

As always, if you have any questions or queries, please just pop me an email! I also love to see what you’re getting up to and hearing your updates – so keep them coming!
