Our school meal provider is ‘Dolce‘ who use SchoolGrid (a computerised ordering and payment system) to ensure our children receive the meals they want and it provides a cashless system for parents. The live system enables parents/carers to go online and order meals from home with their child, view recipes and ingredient information.  Vegetarian and vegan options are clearly displayed. At lunchtime children select their name on the touch screen at the serving hatch. Their meal choice is displayed to the cook, as well as any dietary/allergy needs. We are requesting that parents pre-order their child's meal at home, but when this is not possible the children will be able to order their lunch in the classroom using the interactive whiteboard before registration.  You are able to order termly, weekly or daily but please remember that if you order on a daily basis you will need to do so before 9.30am.  You will only pay for the meals that your child has taken:  if your child misses the meal for any reason you will not be charged. 

The cost of a school dinner is £2.40 per day (£12 per week).  Parents pay for school lunches via direct debit (on the SchoolGrid website) which saves time at home as well as in the school office.

Allergens

The sophisticated allergen blocking system prevents you and your child from ordering any unsafe meal options.  All you need to do is tick which of the allergens apply and let the system take care of the rest. 

Free meals 

If your child is in Reception, Y1 or Y2 then they are entitled to Universal Free School meals.  This will be automatically set up on your Dolce account as free.

Free school meals are also provided when parents/carers meet certain eligibility criteria. If you think you may be eligible for free school meals you can apply online https://www.staffordshire.gov.uk/Education/Educational-awards-benefits/FreeSchoolMeals/Apply-online.aspx  Once a decision has been made, the local authority will inform us at school and we will update your Dolce account to free school meals.
