House Teams at Cooper Perry

All children from nursery to year 6 are divided into 1 of the four houses: Earth, Air, Fire and Water. Prospective House Captains are asked to send in a letter of application to the Head Teacher at the beginning of each year describing their characteristics and the reasons why they would be the perfect choice as school representatives.
House Captains meet each Monday morning to discuss actions for the week or longer term. All minutes are taken by the secretary and posted on our board.
House Captains are responsible for whole House assemblies within their teams once a month alternating with joined House assembly time as well as end of half term assemblies.
House Captains are expected to follow the roles of responsibility laid out below:

Polite and well mannered

  • Organised and committed
  • Well-presented in uniform and appearance
  • Able to liaise and converse with staff, students and the wider community
  • Desire to act responsibly and to be a role model for other students
  • You can expect:
  • Responsibilities appropriate to the position of House Captain
  • full support from staff to organise events and teams
  • Access to school publications: Newsletter and web site under support
  • Time to meet as a  Captains Team
  • Assembly time and House group time
  • Ownership of House Notice Board
  • We expect you:
  • To be a positive role model and ambassador for the school
  • To be enthusiastic and committed to the House System at Cooper Perry
  • To be friendly and positive  with all students
  • To be part of the team of House Captains who work together to achieve success for all
  • To work to deadlines
  • to take  on office jobs at lunch time for a week: answering phones, photocopying, greeting visitors
