Stone Age trip - Wolseley Centre

Year 3 and 4 enjoyed a fantastic Stone Age Day at the Wolseley Centre. The took on the role of a Stone Age person making clay pots, practising fire lighting, shelter building and cave painting. A brilliant way to end our Stone Age Topic.

ART

This term, Year 3 became Stone Age painters. They explored different textures and tones through creating their own paints and paint palettes, just like cave people. They produced some fantastic Stone Age cave paintings as their final piece of artwork. 

Year 3 and 4 enjoyed a fantastic WOW Day!

The children became people from the Stone Age and were hunter-gatherers who found berries and crushed them to produce paint. This paint was then used to create amazing cave paintings.

Using custard creams, they made Stonehenge, and using salt dough they also created their own bones to make jewelery. To finish the day they wrote instructions on How to Wash a Woolly Mammoth!
