Home School Partnership
At Cooper Perry, we believe that strong partnerships between home and school help every child to thrive. A key part of this partnership is our shared commitment to the school values of respect, responsibility, resilience, open-mindedness and kindness. These values guide how we work together and how we support each child’s learning journey.
Respect in Our Interactions
Respect sits at the heart of all communication between parents, carers and school staff. When we treat one another with courtesy, patience and understanding, we create a positive atmosphere where every child feels safe, supported and valued.
- Listening with care: We encourage open and honest conversations where parents, carers and staff listen to each other’s perspectives and experiences.
- Speaking kindly: Using considerate and constructive language helps us model respectful behaviour for our children.
- Valuing each other’s roles: Parents and carers know their children best, and staff bring professional expertise to support learning and wellbeing. We respect these different strengths and work together as partners.
- Working together to solve problems: When challenges arise, we approach them calmly and collaboratively, focusing on what is best for the child.
By upholding respect in all our interactions, we build a welcoming, supportive and united school community—one that helps every learner flourish.
Our Home–School Agreement
To support a strong and consistent partnership, Cooper Perry has a Home–School Agreement that sets out the shared responsibilities of parents and carers, pupils and school staff. This agreement helps everyone understand the important role they play in creating a positive learning environment grounded in our values.
Why the Agreement Matters
- Clarity and consistency: It clearly outlines what each member of our community can expect from one another, helping us work together with confidence and trust.
- Shared responsibility: By signing the agreement, families and staff demonstrate their commitment to supporting pupils’ learning, wellbeing and personal growth.
- A united approach: When home and school share the same expectations, children receive consistent messages that help them feel secure, motivated and ready to learn.
- Living our values: The agreement reinforces the behaviours and attitudes we aim to model—showing respect in our interactions, taking responsibility for our actions, approaching challenges with resilience, being open-minded towards new ideas, and showing kindness in all we do.
Our Home–School Agreement is reviewed regularly to ensure it reflects the needs of our community. By working together with shared understanding and purpose, we give every child the strongest possible foundation for success.
