This week, your writing is going to be inspired by Mowgli from The Jungle Book. 10 years ago a young boy called Mowgli went missing from his family home. His parents were devastated, and along with the villagers, they searched far and wide. They had no luck – Mowgli was never found. In an attempt to raise the awareness of Mowgli’s disappearance, a local newspaper published the following article.

Fast forward to 10 years on, Mowgli gets sight of the newspaper article and the memories of his past come flooding back. After reading the article, he feels compelled to reassure his parents that he is ok. Your task this week is to take on the role of Mowgli and write to his parents, reassuring them, that whilst he still wants to live in the jungle, he is happy, well and hasn’t forgotten them.
