We now know that a verb is an action word, and today we are going to look at a special type of verb called an imperative (bossy) verb. These verbs give a command. Put your coat on. ‘Put’ is the bossy verb as it tells us the action we must do. The link to the BBC website will tell you more about imperative verbs.
