Maths – Week 1

This week’s maths tasks follow the same sequence and approach to maths that we follow in school. Usually, we would spend the first 5 minutes of a maths lessons recapping our arithmetic skills. I have therefore uploaded daily arithmetic questions with answers for the children to complete should they wish. In maths, after learning a new skill, we begin by practicing that skill through varied fluency tasks and then we embed and apply our knowledge to reasoning and problem solving tasks. I have uploaded both varied fluency and reasoning tasks for each area of learning. Each task comes in 3 levels of challenge - the children will be familiar with these and they will be able to specify which level they usually complete. Finally, all of the resources come with answers and the children will be used to marking their own work.
