Welcome

Dear families,

I thought you would like to see what the children have been learning at school today. They have all made Easter basket cakes, melting chocolate, mixing and assembling. As well as the cakes they have been making paper chicks and Easter baskets. Working out multiplication and division calculations to complete colour by numbers, egg designs and word searches.

The children have had a lovely day today, I have not set any homework apart from times tables and reading, I think that all of the class need a well deserved break.

Have a wonderful Easter holiday.

Regards

Mrs Moore, Mrs McNally and Mr Ormesher

Dear Families,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who attended our open morning today. I am sure you will agree that your children and grandchildren were amazing, both in church and back at school. We are very proud of them as always. As promised I have added photographs from this morning.

I hope you all have a wonderful Easter break and that the children have a much deserved rest.

Regards

Mrs Moore, Mr Ormesher and Mrs McNally

Dear families,

As we come to the end of this half term I would like to thank all of the children for their continuing hard work and attitude towards their learning. We have had a very busy half term and the children are definitely ready for a well deserved rest.

The next half term is very short but we have lots of exciting activities planned. During the first week back we will be working on a design and technology project, the children will be using a variety of skills to create moving books. These will be non-fiction books about the Stone Age, I would like the children to include a page on each of the following aspects of Stone Age: Stone Henge, Skara Brae and Stone Age life. To help the children to further understand the aspects I have included web links below. If you have time during the next week ask your children to have a look at the web sites. All of the D & T work will be carried out in school.

Could I also please ask the children to bring moving books from home if they have any, as this will help with the research of how books are made. Please put your child's name in the books.

I hope you all have a restful half term week.

Regards

Mrs J Moore

Dear families,

Please find information regarding the Spring term below.

Maths

This term in maths the children will be learning about time and fractions, they will also be revisiting addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

English

We are continuing to use Treasure Island as a theme for our English work this half term, writing diaries and letters.

Science

Our science topic this half term is forces and magnets, next half term the topic will be light and shadow.

In history the children will continue to learn about The Stone Age throughout the term.

Please note that PE kits need to be in school every day, they will be sent home on a Fridays to be washed. I also ask the children to take their water bottles home so that they can be cleaned every Friday.

It is your child's responsibility to hand their homework in by Thursday, I have changed the spellings day to Thursday too.

Please keep your eye on the newsletter for upcoming dates, our class assembly will be held at the end of the Spring term.

I hope that the information above is helpful.

Please email me if you require any information at any time.
