Hello and welcome back,
I hope you all had an eggsellent Easter break! I cannot believe this is our third and final term in Year 4 already!
Your children are already very excited about the new topics and fun summer activities this term has in store. Our history topic is the Normans, which will also inspire the majority of our creative writing and has already generated some incredible art work! (Thank you very much!) In science, we will be learning about living things, inclusive of both animals and plants. We will then develop our understanding of humans further by exploring inheritance and evolution after half term. Our P.E. sessions this term have taken a rather exciting turn - it is Year 4's turn to go swimming! We will also gain and enhance our tennis, rounders and athletics skills. Please could you ensure that children have P.E kits in school at all times to enable us to be flexible with our curriculum time and to adapt to the unpredictable weather, P.E. will be outdoors as much as possible. Thursdays is the day for swimming kit, please.
Homework, when set, will keep its regular pattern –
Maths is to be handed in on a Wednesday.
Reading Comprehension is due on Thursdays.
Spellings, mental maths and timetables occur each Friday.
Reading at home, either independently or to an adult, is encouraged as much as possible.
Any other homework will be listed on the weekly newsletter.
As always, if you have any queries or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me either via the school telephone or at firstname.lastname@example.org Out of school achievements and celebrations are equally welcomed!!
Thank you for your ongoing support,
