Week ending 21/7/16
Our last week in Nursery! We have had a lovely time and have taken advantage of the gorgeous weather. We have enjoyed playing hide and seek around the trees at the bottom of the field and with the colourful ribbons and scarves too.
We would like to thank parents for their lovely gifts and take this opportunity to say how much we have enjoyed our time with your wonderful children this year.
Have a great summer and we wish the children good luck for the future.
Many thanks for your support

The children moving into Reception had an enjoyable full day on Monday. They were so grown up having their lunch in the hall and even joined the rest of the school for outdoor play time, well done to you all .
We had great fun creating sandcastles this week to conclude our Summer Time topic. The children sprinkled sand onto their castle shape and then created individual flags.
We have finished the week with a 'Treat day'. The Happy Puzzle Company came into school and provided the children with challenging puzzles which really made them think and work together to figure out. We all really enjoyed the session.
Next week is our last week of term! The children finish on Thursday for the summer break.
Week ending 7/7/16
What big grown up children we were in Nursery this week when we went to visit the Reception class! We enjoyed a variety of activities, met new friends and our teachers.
We have continued with our 'Summer' topic this week. We talked about Barbecues, what different ones there were, our own experiences and listened to a story. Afterwards we sequenced the pictures to the story and made kebabs, sausages and burgers to go on our play barbecue, it was great fun.
Week ending 1/7/16
What a fabulous morning to end our week! The children have practiced hard all week at both our assembly performance and at their sports races and wow did it pay off this morning!
A big WELL DONE to all the children for being so brave on stage, speaking so well in front of others and just generally enjoying their performance. We are so proud of each one of them and they really deserved to share the Star of the Week certificate and Class of the Week bear!
Thank you to all who attended our classroom to see what sort of activities the children in Nursery experience. It was so nice to see the children talking to their grown ups about what they do at each activity.
The sports races were great fun and what a lot of stickers we all got! To finish the morning off we all then enjoyed a picnic together, a perfect end (apart from the weather!).
Thank you to all the Nursery children for making a fantastic enjoyable morning and to all the adults who gave their support.
Have a lovely weekend.

We all enjoyed the Stoke City Penalty Shoot Out! There were some great kicking skills shown and huge excitement when we scored goals!
This week we have thought about the 'seaside' and after a great discussion we sorted pictures into 2 sets, those that we see at the seaside from those that we don't. As a follow-on activity the children could then cut and stick pictures independently, their cutting skills are really developing well
Also this week, we have created some bright sunshines for our wall display which look fabulous!
We have started practising for our assembly and our sports morning so its been a very busy week
Wk ending 17.6.16
This week we been thinking about 'holidays'. The children had to sort objects that they thought Teddy would need on his sun holiday and pack them in his case. This prompted lots of discussion and children talking about their own experiences, great speaking and listening .
We talked about how we would travel to our holidays and the children enjoyed creating an aeroplane and a train, imaging their journeys.
Next week we will be practicing our races for sports day, therefore, please can we ask that P.E. kits stay in school, thank you. On Monday, 20th, we will be taking part in the Stoke City Penalty Shoot Out too.
Information regarding our assembly/sports morning, Friday 1st July, will be sent out next week.
Week ending 10/6/16
Welcome to the our last half term in Nursery! Where has the time gone?!
Our topic for the next few weeks is 'Summer time', please click on the link below to see our plan. We shall be thinking about the lovely activities we do in the summer, what we wear, holidays and the seaside.
This week the children have enjoyed the outdoors as the weather has been perfect. We enjoyed running on the school field, sitting in the 'quiet area' and playing out in our early years area. The children worked so well together building with the large construction, there were some great ideas!
Please put the date, Friday 1st July, in your diaries. It is our Nursery Assembly at 9.15am followed by our Sports Morning. Your children will then be able to join you for a picnic on the field, more details to follow.
Lets hope this warm weather continues. Please make sure your child has had sun cream applied and brings a hat each day. Many thanks.
Wk ending 27/5/16
We have completed our 'Growing' topic this week by thinking about the 'Mary Mary quite contrary' nursery rhyme. The children have watered flowers, drawn flowers looked around the school grounds to see what flowers they can see growing. We have also used their 'funky fingers' to hold tweezers correctly to pick up foam flowers and do some clever counting.
We hope you all have a good half term break, lets hope the sun shines.
Wk ending 20/5/16
This week we have been thinking about seeds. The children have looked at and handled a variety of seeds which they have sorted and created pictures with. We looked at the different packets too and the children created their own.
The outdoors have been enjoyed with the wheeled toys and colourful ribbons to move around creatively, we had a great time
Wk ending 13/5/16
OUR BEANS GREW !!
All the children are thrilled at how their bean plant has grown! Each day they have enjoyed looking closely at the roots and how the seed spilt open for the stem to grow out. We hope they continue to grow at home and would love to see any pictures of them please.
Week ending 6/5/16
Although a short week in Nursery due to the Bank Holiday and Maypole, the children have been thinking about 'Flowers' in their learning. They used mathematical language when measuring with their chosen flower and enjoyed finding objects both indoors and out that were either taller or shorter. The children have produced some great flower pictures and created flowers with various construction and foam pieces.
All the children preformed brilliantly at the Maypole dancing, great skipping and big smiles! Well done children, we are very proud of you
Week ending 29/4/16
Our beans are growing!! The children are excited and each day are looking through their magnifying glasses at the new growth. Please feel free to pop into the classroom and have a look with your child.
We have been thinking about the story 'Jack and the Beanstalk' and each child painted their image of the story. Super paintings were produced and they look great. The children also used their cutting skills to create leaves of the beanstalk for a number activity this week, our counting is becoming so good!
Although the weather has been chilly this week the children have enjoyed using our outdoor area. 'Blossom' pies have been created in our kitchen area and super ramps and construction for cars and trucks in the bark area. Fantastic to see the children working together so well.
Just a reminder that next Friday, 6th May, is Maypole. There is NO Nursery session in the morning. Please can the children arrive for an afternoon session at 1pm and Maypole will begin at 2pm. Please come along if you are able to join in our celebration.
Enjoy the Bank Holiday break

We have really got going with our 'Growing' topic this week. The children all pretended to be 'Jasper' planting his bean and then they all prepared their own bean in a jar to observe growing over the next few weeks.
The children enjoyed a great P.E. session out on the field with Mr Johnson and were involved in races and practiced their throwing skills.
We celebrated the Queens 90th Birthday by watching clips about her and did some great colouring of crowns etc.
Maypole practice is now in full swing and the children are trying really hard. Just a reminder that Parents/carers are invited to watch the Maypole celebration on Friday 6th May at 2pm. Many thanks.
