4.7.17- Red Lion Ice Cream Farm
What a fantastic trip we had this morning!
First, we met Christine, who was our coach driver. After an exciting journey we arrived at the ice cream farm! We met Farmer Graham and sat in the marquee for PINK custard creams and juice. Farmer Graham spoke to us about the farm and what we will be doing this morning. We were all set to start exploring the farm when it started to rain!!! Luckily it only lasted for 5/10minutes and was dry for the rest of the morning.
Outside we met al packers and some sheep, which were very loud! Some of us were brave enough to feed them as well! Next to the goats which was one of our favourite stops. They were so tiny and lived in a house called 'Rascal Ranch' because they were rascals. Miss Turner thinks we all need to move into that house too. Lots of use fed the goats as they were very friendly and we all felt some of their oily wool.
Now we had to be very quiet... We were going to meet lots of owls! There were lots of different types but our favourite was the barn owl which we were allowed to carefully stroke. It was so soft we couldn't feel it.
After a quick toilet stop and nosey at the guinea pigs, Farmer Graham bought us some very delicious ice creams! We had a choice of original, raspberry swirl, mint and chocolate swirl or chocolate and ate them all up!
Our last stop was to the duck pond. We threw some bread and ice cream cone into their pen and a greedy turkey kept running up to use to steel bread right out of our hands! After a very fun morning, we joined Christine back on the coach to school :)
We have had a super morning in our new Reception class and are excited about the week ahead! We can't wait for our trip tomorrow and will then be busy practising our assembly ready for Friday's open morning!
Welcome back and hopefully welcome to lots of sunshine and warm weather this term. I hope you had a brilliant Easter, we enjoyed sharing our holiday news and beginning our new topic
BABY ANIMALS.
