Ancient High House- Thursday 25th June
We had so much fun on our trip on Thursday. We learned so much about people who lived in The Ancient High House and Stafford many, many years ago. We behaved so well, had excellent manners and were very sensible walking up and down the steep stairs. Miss Turner, Mrs Squires, Mrs Brickenell, Mr Cox and Mrs Cox were very proud of us!
Over the past week we have carried out an investigation to find out what the best conditions are for a sunflower seed to grow. We have found out they need: compost, water, the right temperature, sunlight and carbon dioxide. We have now planted our own sunflower seeds and will give them the best conditions to grow in.
I hope you have all had a restful Easter holiday.
It has been a great start to the term. In literacy we have created holiday adverts and children have written a persuasive text to persuade me to go on their holiday!
In maths we have been focusing on measuring and next week we will be moving onto fractions.
We have already started our new Geography unit: Continents and Oceans and in Science we will be learning about Inheritance and moving onto Plants. Next half term our History unit will be Seighford and Stafford.
Just to remind you we have PE with Stoke City every Wednesday, children will need to bring both their indoor and outdoor kit each week.
