Spring

Year 5 Easter Homework

In preparation for our new science topic 'Living Things', I would like you to create a resource explaining the life cycle of a living thing (this could be an animal, a human or a plant). You can present your work in any way - the more creative the better.

I look forward to seeing them after Easter.

Year 5 Homework (Friday 9th March)

Next week we are becoming news reporters and we are braving the topic of the recent weather. I would like you to research the Beast from the East and be ready to share your findings on Tuesday afternoon.

You could research -

The progression of the storm (temperature, snow measurements, worsening weather conditions etc).

The impact the storm had on the UK (schools, shops, transport etc).

Any unusual or funny stories that were reported on during the storm.

You could brainstorm some key vocabulary to describe the stormy conditions.

You may want to watch some news videos and listen to the reporters interviewing members of the public.

Explore existing newspaper articles on the Beast from the East and note the information, language and features.

I look forward to hearing your ideas on Tuesday.

Thank you
Miss Fletcher

It is an absolute pleasure to be back with you all  and I'm very much looking forward to our time together.
