Welcome back! Wishing you all a happy and healthy New Year! :)

I hope you've all had a fantastic Christmas break and are feeling rested and raring to go in 2017! On behalf of the year 5/6 team, thank you so very much for the lovely Christmas gifts :)

During this term, there will be a focus on ensuring that by the time SATs come around, the children will be saying 'BRING IT ON' and to support their learning, I have added a link to some SATs maths revision boosters. These can be found at the bottom of this page in 'SATs Revision' --> 'SATs Maths Link'. Follow the link on the PDF file and you will be able to choose any concept in the Year 6 Curriculum to support your learning.

As we embark on our second term in Year 6, our new topic is 'The Snow Queen' which will influence our writing and art work. This will be supported by an exciting whole school trip to the New Vic Theatre where we will be watching a production of the novel by Hans Christian Andersen. Very exciting indeed! Our topic following this will be the British Empire 1714 - 1837! In Science our new topic is all about electricity.

PE will take place every Monday and Thursday as well as Stafford Sports College running a session with the children every Friday. Could you please ensure that both outdoor and indoor PE kit is in school for these days.

Homework will be set on a weekly basis however, as we are getting ever closer to May, homework may be set more frequently.

As always, if you have any queries or concerns, don't hesitate to email me at: handerson@cooperperry.staffs.sch.uk

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Best wishes

Miss Anderson and the Year 6 team :)
