This year our School Council will be heavily involved in our Rights Respecting Schools Award Steering Group, they along with Mrs E Wynne, Mrs C Jones and many other adults involved in our school will help us through this exciting journey.  

 

The Steering Group, will explore the CRC and the articles contained within it when considering the different decisions and discussions they are to have.

What have we been involved in?

 

  • Interviewing potential candidates for our new teachers position
  • Practicing our Anti Bullying production ready to perform to Key Stage 1.
  • Making changes to the children's School Report to include a comment box for their reflections on the year.
  • Making major decisions about Key Stage 2's involvement in Maypole.

What are we up to?

 

School Council

  • Creating an Anti - Bullying Production for KS1 and Early Years. This is being written, perfromed and produced by School Council.
  • Playtime Charter - linking our rights and responsibilities.
  • We are currently devising interveiw questions we would like to ask the Govenors, this will enable us to produce a newsletter explaining to the children the role of a Govenor.

Anti - Bullying Theatre

The ‘B’ Word:  Anti-bullying Production

 

Following school council meetings and to enhance our e-safety we have a theatre company coming into school (9.15 – 10.15am) to perform ‘The ‘B’ Word:  Anti-bullying Production’ on Wednesday, 5th February  for KS2 children and parents.  If you would like to attend please be at school for just after 9am. 

 

This unique opportunity has arisen from discussions with Parents Forum and School Council.

Following on from our Parents Forum meeting and a subsequent discussion with School Council, we are happy to announce that we have arranged for PCSO Ian to come to school to talk to us all about the dangers of strangers.

  You wanted more lunchtime clubs; we can now offer a  Fun, Gym and Dance clubs. Please see Year 5 and 6 or Mrs Milligan for details .
