We have had an great last week of term in Nursery. The children enjoyed our Christmas party and it really put us in the festive spirit!
We would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and good wishes for 2016
Wow! Just how fantastic were the children on stage?! We are so proud of how brave they all were to perform, of their singing and how well they said their words. A big WELL DONE to each and everyone of them
The children have had such a busy week!
We have been rehearsing daily for our Christmas play and the children have been on the stage, we are all getting really excited! The singing has been lovely and the children are trying hard to remember when to say the words that they have learnt.
We enjoyed an extra P.E. session this week which was provided by 'Progressive Sports'. The children followed instructions well and learnt new skills.
We are very proud at how the children have been through this disruptive week, a big 'WELL DONE' to them all
We have focused on 'The Elves and the Shoemaker ' story this week as part of our topic on clothes. The children looked at different versions of the story and have been involved with activities related to the story. They enjoyed 'sewing' a leather shoe cut out and decorating the elves clothing.
Rehearsals for our Christmas production are well under way and the children are trying hard with the words and songs. Thank you to parents/carers for your support of this.
The children have been excited all week about Fireworks and Bonfire night so they have created some fantastic paintings and we pretended to be fireworks in our music and movement session.
This half term our topic is 'Clothes'. At the beginning of this week we created a Fancy Dress shop for our new role play area and the children have really enjoyed dressing up in the different costumes. We looked at socks, what they are made of and the patterns and colours that we could see as we sorted and pegged out the different pairs..

Our whole school this week has had a DT focus. In Nursery we designed and created a building for a 'shape man' using different construction sets. We had a great time and some brilliant buildings were created.
We are so pleased with how the children have settled into the Nursery routine and have had a super first half term together.
Have an enjoyable half term break.
The children have been involved in Autumn themed activities this week. They went into the school garden and had to hunt for Autumn pictures and then they collected leaves to bring back into the classroom.
In music and movement the children moved like squirrels, owls and hedgehogs. There were squeals of excitement when real acorns were spread over the hall floor and they had to collect them all and place them in the squirrels nest!
The children have also been involved in craft and have produced leaves, hedgehogs and squirrels for our class display.
The children have thought about 'rectangles' and 'blue' this week. We had a great music and movement session where we heard the story of The Blue Balloon. We pretended to blow up the balloon, let air out of the balloon and float like the balloon. We had a great time at the end of the session playing with a real blue balloon!
We learnt all about Harvest this week too. We looked at and handled vegetables and then printed with them! Year 5 did a wonderful assembly all about Harvest and we all sat and listened so well.
Our activities this week have been focused on both 'Squares' and 'Yellow'. The children have chalked squares outside, created squares with both sticks and straws, accessed programmes on the interactive whiteboard that concentrate on shape, painted with different shades of yellow and played in custard! It was great fun!
ALL the children have been into our celebration assembly and we were awarded 'Captain Cooper' by Mrs Wynne for being her 'Class of the week'!!
Well done to all the children
The children have been involved with activities focused on 'circles' and 'red' this week. They have enjoyed looking at each others red objects from home and collaged a big red jumper for our display.
Some of the children went to their first whole school assembly which was so brave to do!
Also, we all went out on the big playground with Reception, Year 1 and 2 and had a great run around, well done children!
We have had a great first full week in Nursery We have enjoyed both our first Music and Movement session and P.E. session with Stoke City and been on a 'Listening Walk' in and out of the school.
Our outdoor area has been accessed by the children which has been great for them as they have experienced natural materials and also developing their social skills.
We now have our 'self registration' in the cloakroom area. Please help your child to find the duck which has their name on it and place it in the pond, many thanks.
Welcome to the Autumn Term in Nursery
We have had a lovely first few mornings and we will be spending the next few weeks getting to know the children, encouraging them to share, take turns and form friendships.
During this term our topic will be ‘Shape and Colour’. Both ‘child choice’ and ‘adult led’ activities will be used to promote recognition and language associated with shape. In our ‘Forest school’ session the children shall explore and investigate shapes and colours in the natural environment and also look for signs of Autumn too.
The Rainbow Fish story will be used as a focus for both colour and sharing with others. Printing shapes, creating a Rainbow Fish display, Autumn related crafts and experiences with clay/play dough will provide opportunities for the children to use their imagination and create.
Our Music and Movement session will take place on a Monday and we will also have a P.E. session will be led by Stoke City on a Wednesday where the children will learn multi-skills.
Pencil control, number recognition and Letters and Sounds activities will be accessed daily by the children and they will all take turns at being the ‘Special Helper’!
Please keep checking the website for further information and photographs.
Should you or your child have any worries or concerns please do not hesitate to speak to a member of staff.
