Autumn Term

Christmas Production

What a fantastic end to the term, everyone thoroughly enjoyed our 3-part carol service. The children represented Christmas celebrations from the Nativity, 2016 and WW1. They all worked hard to learn their poems and songs; it was a great way to finish our Christmas term.

  • Reptile

Please be creative with this, it can be a poster, leaflet, power point, model, whatever they decide!

Due in on Wednesday 21st September 2016

Please take a look at what we are covering this term :)

Welcome to Year 4!

I hope you have all had a lovely summer and are ready to start the new school year. The children are settling into their new classroom and are looking forward to the year ahead. Our class book for this half term is the Iron Man by Ted Hughes; we will be using this book to inspire our writing. In Maths we are going to cover all the strands, which will then be followed with an end of unit assessment.

Physical Education will be on Monday and Thursday. On Monday mornings, Stafford College will be coming in to deliver an extra PE lesson to Year 4, taking half of the class on an alternate basis. It is a fantastic opportunity for the children to improve their fitness and skills within this area, as well as receiving an intense Maths lesson on the following week. The children will keep their kit in school until Thursday and then they will come home in them.

Monday – Reading comprehension

Friday – Mental maths and spelling

The above homework will be set weekly and will be due for the following week. Homework will be set for other subjects; if it is a compulsory piece, a week will be given.
