In Nursery we have a cheeky monkey called Milo. He awards the class with marbles when he sees amazing behaviour, super tidying, brilliant listening, fantastic answers, magical maths or wonderful writing! When our jar is full we get a special prize. Today the jar was over-flowing so we had some strawberry milk! It was very yummy!
We have been so busy preparing for Polly's birthday! We met Polly who told us she had never been to a birthday party and it was her birthday soon. So, we decided to give her a party for her 4th birthday! We asked her what she would like at her party so we knew what decorations, food, drink and games to get ready. We all bought in birthday related items and had brilliant discussions with our class about the items. We all had so much fun and Polly LOVED her party!
This week we have been learning about Diwali and fireworks!
We learned about Rangoli patterns and had a go at making our own. We used lots of different materials to stick onto paper, used the interactive whiteboard to colour in a pattern and some of us drew patterns with chalk outside! Miss Turner was so proud of how hard we worked on our cutting skills and holding a pen correctly.
This morning we got excited for bonfire night this weekend and made fireworks by blowing paint!
Welcome to Nursery at Cooper Perry!
I hope you have all had a brilliant summer and are ready for the exciting journey your children will be going on this coming year.
I am so proud of the children this week. They have made a super start to school life and even though there were few tears have all settled in so well. They have all made new friends, got to know the adults in the Early Years Team and have shown beautiful behaviour and manners.
PE- this will take place on a Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning.
Wednesday afternoon- Children will come to school as usual in their uniforms and need to bring their PE kits with them. We will help get them changed after lunch.
Thursday morning- Children need to come into school wearing their PE kits with their uniforms in their bag. This will save a lot of our learning time but children will still be encouraged to dress themselves into their school uniform after the PE session.
Please see the medium term plans below to gain an insight to what the children will be learning and achieving in school during their first half term. I have also uploaded the presentation from the 'meet the teacher' evening in June for more details about the school, our routine and curriculum.
If you do have any questions, concerns or need to inform me of something which has happened outside of school please contact me. I am available before and after nursery sessions to speak to directly or you can email firstname.lastname@example.org
I shall continue to update our class webpage showing all of the exciting things happening in nursery- so keep a look out J
